The winner of our 5th Birthday Giveaway is @johnsonfam_5! Her guess was 5,015 pieces. Our actual total of pieces sent out of the shop over the past five years is 5,086.
If we had hit our original goal, we would be barely making four digits total right now. But LOOK. AT. YOU! Look at how you have rallied around this small shop and made us what we are. I'm the worst business mom ever. I missed our #prettymuchgone birthday. Did I at least hit birthday month like all the other businesses do? No. No, I did not.
PMG turned FIVE on July 25th and I celebrated by making shirts! Cliche, I know. But we are still going to do some celebrating with YOU, our amazing customers even though we are nearly a month late. Why? Because I'm no quitter.
Here's the sitch: we want you to guess how many pieces of clothing have been ordered through our shop over the past five years (plus a few weeks 😬). Whoever guesses closest will win the sweet prize pack full of amazing gear on the second slide. There is a custom ladies sweatshirt, a streetwear tee from #shakawear, some amazing shorts from #independentclothingcompany, a #customsnapback made on a #yuupong cap and finally, a seven-panel snapback from #decky. This is all going to ONE winner so listen up:

I can tell you that because of your incredible support, I've run more than 5 times that goal. 😳
It's mind blowing and so exciting and no wonder I'm so tired! But I've loved every project and birthday and baby announcement and inside joke and business launch and family trip that you've let me be a small part of so THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

There are few things that get me more excited than patriotic pieces. One of them, though, was a patriotic piece that went with @atfirstcast to the World Fly Casting Championship happening this week! In fact, we were lucky enough to outfit the team with a variety of headwear, from snapbacks to visors, for their competition.

Words.
I always hate to post stuff like this during #pridemonth because I don't want it to look cliche and frankly, for marginalized groups, words and t-shirts just don't feel like enough. I don't want to jump on the bandwagon and promote stuff without fully understanding the impact of the space I take up in the conversation.
But what is enough is a customer reaching out and wanting these items not just as a cliche addition to the fray but as a sincere nod and willingness to participate in and fight for the #lgbtq community and actually BE an #ally, not just wear the colors. That is worth celebrating.
Glad to work with people who make a difference and feel the feels. Glad to add gear to a couple of bodies that are working to represent the wonderful margins. Grateful for voices and being able to support their words when I'm still unsure of what to say at times.

Guys... I know you are wondering why I've been MIA - I fired my social media person. She was flighty and not organized and kept forgetting to post until it had been so long that posting would be awkward. It was me. I fired me.
The good news is that I found a new social specialist with a better attitude and a willingness to work and to do her job. It's also me. But before you run away, here me out:
Running your own business can be hard. And by "can be", I mean it is. I've been working and printing and staying so busy that one of my plates (Insta) stopped spinning for a bit. Rather than you think I'm on a timeout, here are some of the goods that I've been working on just over the last couple of weeks. See, it's a lot.
I'm committing to do better. Maybe not a LOT better, but some. And maybe an attitude shift will help me manage my time better?
Lastly, always feel free to hit us up for your special projects - if we are MIA here, it means we are in production... and that's a good, good thing.
